A SAVVY mum has revealed a little-known way to get free nappies from Aldi.

Newborn parents can easily get their hands on a full pack of Mamia size 1 diapers and save money.

The savvy mum wrote on Facebook: “On the Net Mums website you can get free size 1 Aldi nappies.”

All she had to do was type 'free Aldi nappies netmums' into Google and she was taken straight to the parenting page.

She explained: “You will be sent the gift card to redeem.

“I sent them to my mom's house and also to my sister's house and they got them!”

The message on NetMums.com explained that parents did not need to write a review, but simply sign up to receive their vouchers in the mail.

The next step is to claim the free diapers in any Aldi store.

“Aldi Mamia size 1 newborn nappies are good value for money and cost just 79 cents for 24 nappies. That amounts to a wallet-friendly 3.2 cents per diaper,” the message said.

Raising a child is one of life's most joyful experiences, but also one of the most expensive.

Families are facing more financial difficulties than ever due to rising energy bills and the cost of living crisis.

Aldi is also donating 80,000 essential baby items from its Mamia range to charities and food banks across the UK in a bid to support new parents on low incomes.

There is other help available if you know where to look and you may also be entitled to free childcare, prescriptions and Healthy Start vouchers.

To help you save money, we've rounded up the best deals for parents and how to access them:

Baby banks and food banks

The Trussell Trust runs a national network of approximately 1,200 food banks throughout Great Britain.

To gain access, you must have been referred by organizations such as GPs, schools or support organizations such as Citizen Advice.

Children's charity Little Village also has one interactive baby bank tool from over 200 baby banks across the UK.

The best thing you can do is contact the nearest center to find out what their policy is.

Free diapers and wipes

For older toddlers, you can also get a free pair of DryNites pajama pants from Huggies.

The tester can be a good way to try out the pants before purchasing a whole package.

You must complete a form on the DryNites website to register for your free copy.

If you are looking for a more sustainable option, Pure is giving away a free pack of 24 100% biodegradable baby wipes.

To get the freebie, sign up to the Pure website – this is free – and simply add it to your shopping cart.

However, you still pay 99 cents for delivery. Pura usually sells a box of 28 packs of 24 baby wipes for €22.10.

Parents who download it Pampers Club app receive a free pack of Pampers Baby-Dry dry when you purchase ten packs.

To claim your free pack, you must enter a code from the pack of diapers into the Pampers Club app.

After entering the code, you will receive a stamp on a virtual customer card.

Once you have made ten purchases, a free package will be delivered to your home.

Free baby food from Ella's Kitchen

To apply for Ella's kitchen via the loyalty program “Become a Friend” and you will receive a free pacifier package with vouchers and other goodies.

The vouchers can be exchanged for free pouches of Ella's Kitchen food, and you will also receive a weight loss plan so you can monitor the progress of your baby's development.

A single bag of Ella's Kitchen usually costs £1.10 at Tesco.

To sign up, you'll need to provide your name, address and details about your little one.

Free baby clubs from Asda, Boots and more

With the Asda baby clubyou can enter competitions to win free products and exclusive offers for parents.

Shoppers will also be the first to be notified when a baby sale arrives in stores.

Boots' Baby Club allows you to earn eight points for every £1 you spend on baby products, and offers free gifts at key stages of your baby's development.

You'll also get parenting offers through the Boots app.

Other baby clubs you can sign up for include SMAPiccolo and Aptamil.

Free prescriptions and dental care

You can get both prescriptions and NHS dental care for free while you are pregnant, as well as for 12 months after your baby is born.

Prescriptions in England currently cost £9.35, while NHS dental costs vary by location.

To claim the free care, ask your doctor or midwife for a maternity exemption certificate (MATEX).

Free milk, infant formula, vitamins or fruits and vegetables

Look out for the Healthy Start vouchers, which allow you to claim free fruit, vegetables and milk.

They can also be spent on vitamins for expectant mothers or babies.

They are currently available to mothers who are at least ten weeks pregnant, or have a child under four years old, and who receive income support or other benefits.

You are also eligible if you are under 18 years old and pregnant, even if you do not receive benefits.

Most eligible parents will receive one voucher per week, except parents with children under one year old, who will receive two vouchers per week.

Free £500 Sure Start grant

You may be entitled to a Sure Start grant of £500 if you are on certain benefits and are expecting your first child, or are expecting more than one baby.

To claim, you must complete the following form on Gov.uk and have your doctor or midwife sign it.

The one-off payment does not need to be repaid and will not affect your monthly Universal Credit payment or tax credits.

The Sure Start grant is available to parents in England, Northern Ireland and Wales who are expecting their first child.

In Scotland you may be able to claim up to £600 under the same scheme Pregnancy and baby payment.

Free 30 hours of childcare

Parents of three and four year olds can request up to 30 hours of free childcare per week.

To qualify you must work an average of 16 hours a week at the National Living Wage or minimum wage and earn less than £100,000 a year.

But keep in mind that you will need to reconfirm your eligibility every three months.

This is the case if your circumstances, such as your income or living situation, have changed.

You can register by: childcare bill on the government website.

Tax-free childcare

You may also be eligible for up to £500 every three months (or £2,000 per year) through the government's tax-free childcare scheme.

Under this scheme, parents get £2 for every £8 paid for childcare for children under 11 – and you can claim this on top of your 30 hours of free childcare.

You can apply online via Gov.uk.

Parents who work an average of 16 hours a week at the national minimum wage or living wage, and have less than £100,000 each, should be eligible.

To claim, children must be aged 11 or under, or 16 and under if they are disabled.
