Southern hospitality'S Emmy Sharrett denies that he has fallen behind Maddi Reeseis back for her promotion at Republic Garden & Lounge.

“I definitely feel a little betrayed by her,” Maddi, 26, said exclusively We weekly prior to season 2 of Southern hospitalitynoting that when she saw the show's trailer, she realized that 25-year-old Emmy might be coming for work.

However, Emmy told it exclusively Us that she didn't want to hurt Maddi's feelings when she told their boss: Leva Bonaparteshe worked to play a bigger role in the Charleston club.

'It wasn't a betrayal. Over time, Maddi gradually stopped taking responsibility for her work,” Emmy explained, claiming, “I really didn't think I was going to be a leader in any capacity. And before I knew it, all these girls were looking to me to get things done. Over time, I became that leader.”

Emmy recalled the transition that took place in the summer of 2023. “I thought, 'Why am I doing all this work if I don't have this title?'” she confessed. “People said, 'You would be phenomenal as a VIP manager.' And I'm like, 'You know what, we don't even have one right now, so why don't we try to be one?'

Emmy claimed that “Maddi's priorities had less and less to do with Republic” as she worked on her DJ career. “You can't run a business DJing everywhere, trying to grow that career. It's just not possible. So as that expanded, I saw that it was an easy way for her to let go of the VIP manager and pursue that,” Emmy shared Us. “But I think a lot of it was her ego getting in the way.”

Emmy's friend, Will Kulp, also turned the blame on Maddi for Emmy coming to Republic. “I also think the only person Maddi should feel betrayed by is herself, because she's the one who dropped the ball,” Will, 26, said. “It's very typical of Maddi to point fingers instead of looking in the mirror.”

Emmy joked, “I mean, she actually gave it to me, but she knew I would take it.”

During the Thursday, February 8, episode of the Bravo series, viewers learned that Emmy was given the title of Assistant General Manager (AGM), meaning she oversees both Maddi and Joe Bradleywho are VIP managers.

A game-changing scandal. While drama makes for good reality TV, many stars have crossed a line and their actions have real consequences. In June 2020, following the killing of George Floyd while in police custody, global protests began and thousands of people marched in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Many networks started looking for this […]

The promotion was even more than Emmy asked for from boss Leva, 44, at the beginning of the season, and it rubbed Maddi and Joe, 27, the wrong way.

“LO f–king L,” Maddi said in the episode after Leva announced Emmy's new role. “Emmy f–king definitely doesn't deserve it. She has no idea what an assistant general does. I'll always be the bitch leading the bitch, I don't care what her title is.

Joe was taken back by Emmy's jump and told her, “I'm happy for you, but you're not my boss.” As the evening progressed, Joe became even more upset by the news. He vented to Maddi, saying, “I just don't like how she came in with her yellow dress on and said, 'I'm your boss now.' Yes, king, right. You're not my damn boss.

Joe joked, “I'd rather be DJ and Joey Bottles than assistant to the general manager.” Maddi fired back, “Yeah, no, it's laughable,” to which Joe replied, “F-k that.” That's hilarious.”

Although Emmy has been in charge for months, Joe spoke exclusively Us in January that he believes she could have handled the transition better.

'Emmy just [went] about it the wrong way and it [brushed] Me and Maddi got screwed because Maddi and I are the ones who got her the job,” Joe admitted. “What Maddi always says is: 'Don't bite the hand that feeds you.' So you can promote, but do it the right way so you don't piss people off.
