A SCOTTISH bakery has sent food fans wild with cheap sausage rolls and pastries hailed as “better than Greggs”.

Bayne’s Bakery has 65 stores across central Scotland and is going viral on TikTok thanks to its delicious treats.

The family-run chain offers tasty snacks, cakes, donuts and hot and cold sandwiches.

And foodies have noticed that the bakery is very similar to fast food giant Greggs – even claiming it is “much, much, much better”.

Not only does the food taste good, but the prices are also tasty.

The steak bake in Bayne’s costs £2.35, compared to £2.40 in Greggs, while a sausage roll is also 40p cheaper, priced at £1.05.

I decided to order a too good to go bag from my local branch in Alva, Clackmannanshire to see what all the fuss was about.

Every day their stores package up leftover stock that would normally go to waste and offer the surprise bags to customers for the discounted price of £4.

I had to reserve mine a day in advance and queued to pick it up, but it was more than worth it when the friendly staff handed me two bags full of food.

I was told I would get £12 worth of food in my bag, which already seemed like a great deal.

But my haul ended up being worth over £30, with delicious snacks including ice cream doughnuts, caramel twist and crumpets.

The best part for me had to be the cakes, pies and sausage rolls, all of which were still piping hot so it didn’t feel like you were getting the throwaways at the end of the day.

‘One of the best dishes I’ve ever had,’ say foodies as they descend on a 24-hour bakery nicknamed ‘belly heaven’

And of the perfectly flaky treats, my highlight was the sweet and spicy chicken pot pie.

It felt like a modern take on a bakery classic with a delicious curry flavor that wasn’t too spicy or overpowering.

It was also packed with large chunks of chicken, which was a bonus considering the price. I will definitely go back for another one.

With so much food to choose from, I had enough for dinner last night plus lunch today – and there’s still plenty left.

This deal is definitely too good to pass up, you have to go buy one.
