A singer who used to work on a cruise ship has revealed the morbid reason why they have ‘free ice cream parties’ on board.

TikTok star Dara Starr Tucker opened up about her experiences with disasters and deaths on cruise ships in a series of videos on the platform, where she has more than 1.1 million followers.

When one commenter noted that there is a correlation between the amount of ice given to passengers and the number of bodies in the morgue, she confirmed that “this is unfortunately often true.”

“When the crew suddenly provides ice cream to the passengers — a free ice cream party — it’s often because more people have died on the ship than there is room for in the morgue,” she said.

Tucker explained that about ten years ago she was a singer on a cruise ship and spent six months in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

“Luckily we didn’t have to deal with this kind of thing, but we were friends with some crew members who did,” she said.

The social commentator estimated that there were 25,000 to 30,000 passengers on each cruise and that approximately four to ten people died on each voyage.

“There are a lot of older people on ships and often people die on cruises,” she noted. ‘So at the morgue they said there were about seven people trapped.

‘If If more than seven people died on that particular ship, they would have to start moving bodies into the freezer, which means they had to make room in the freezer.”

Tucker explained that they would have to take out a lot of the ice and frozen food to make room for the extra bodies.

“So when that happened, ice cream party, woo!” she concluded.

The sensational video has been viewed 2.2 million times and received more than 3,000 comments since it was posted on February 20.

“Cruise ship doctor here. Can confirm the correlation between mortuary and ice,” one person wrote.

“I was supposed to go on a cruise in May,” someone else responded. “Now I’m going to be that guy. “You know, if they serve us ice cream, a lot of people are going to die.”

‘Thanks for the info. There was an ice cream party on my cruise ship, and now [I] know why,” another added.

Others were shocked by the revelation, with some admitting they had no idea cruise ships had morgues on board.

“It never occurred to me that there would be a morgue on a cruise ship…I’ll have to think about it and come back,” one viewer commented.

“I swear every cruise fact I learn makes me want to take one less,” another commented.

“Wait, so when people die on a ship, they don’t return out of respect for their loved ones? We’re all just going to keep partying while Nana’s dead in the freezer?’ someone else asked.

Dara’s claims about the reason for onboard ice cream parties come just weeks after another cruise ship employee shared the truth about how many people actually die on cruise ships, claiming it happens “more often than you think.”

Zoie Madigan, 28, from North Carolina, has nearly 13,000 followers on TikTok, where she documents her life on the high seas as an employee of Norwegian Cruise Line.

In a January video, she opened up about Serenade of the Seas, a nine-month cruise that departed late last year, telling her followers that it was likely that several people could die during the entire voyage.

“One thing I don’t think anyone talks about enough about this nine-month world cruise is how often people simply die of natural causes while on vacation,” she began her video.

“It happens more often than you think,” she said of people dying on the ship, but added that it doesn’t happen every week.
