The hashtag page is full of videos sharing their clever hacks on how they managed to transform their home.

And Claire's managed to grab a lot of attention, but it was the way she did her makeover that stunned people.

She had her doors on the inside of her house repainted black, but instead of using a paintbrush, Claire used a tanning mitt.

Claire said: “I love a good DIY hack, you don't need a huge budget to add luxury doors to your home.

“I used a Home Bargains tanning mitt with a gray undercoat and then a black eggshell top coat, perfect.”

She holds a tray containing the paint with her right hand, then applies the paint to the door while wearing the glove with her left hand.

Claire starts with a gray paint as an undercoat, before applying a black layer – and with both paint colors she uses the tanning mitt.

The video attracted a lot of attention and many rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts.

Is black the new housing trend?

DIY fans are all jumping on the black bandwagon, with #blackinterior notching 88 million views on TikTok.

But interior design guru Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has warned that this trend should be treated with caution.

Having an all-black house “can feel like entering a rabbit hole or Mordor in The Lord Of The Rings,” and Laurence urges interior design fans to “choose very wisely.”

Interior tips for black

Laurence believes DIY enthusiasts should avoid black on black to prevent their homes from hiding furniture.

If you have black accessories, he advises people to look at a white room instead.

Laurence also warns interior design fans to be aware of black floors, as they require a lot of maintenance and can give the impression that the floor is a big dark hole.

What other trends should we avoid?

According to Laurence, there are five other interior design trends that DIY fans should avoid when decorating their homes.

This includes gallery walls, electric fire walls, legless sofas, gray kitchens and TVs as a focal point.
