Here's the first piece of advice I give to lottery winners when I call with good news
A SENIOR Winners adviser says he always tells people who have won the jackpot to go on holiday.
Andy Carter from the National Lottery said: “I've met many winners over the years and dream holidays are always at the top of the National Lottery wish list after winning a life-changing prize.”
Andy advises people to take a holiday, especially after raising more than £100 million, “to let the profits sink in”.
He said: “We all use breaks as a time to reflect and with a new huge bank balance you need that time.”
It comes after the National Lottery asked the country where their holiday destinations would be if money were no object.
The survey found that 40 percent of respondents would see the Northern Lights in Iceland, while 31 percent would enjoy a beach holiday in the Caribbean.
About 29 percent would go on a world cruise and 25 percent would fly to Japan to see the cherry blossoms.
Only nine percent would be adventurous enough to go backpacking in Southeast Asia and one in ten said they would follow their favorite sports team on tour.
A quarter of respondents would rush to Disney World Florida and 18 percent would go to Dubai Mall.
The survey shows that 16 percent would visit the Taj Mahal, while 17 percent want to explore Machu Picchu.
Surprisingly, 39 percent said they didn't fancy exploring so far away, while around 20 percent preferred places in Europe such as Spain and Greece.
And almost half of Brits said they would consider traveling to space if money were no object.
The survey comes ahead of a mega EuroMillions jackpot this Friday, with an estimated £111 million up for grabs.
