I’m A Celebrity bosses are said to be watching the weather forecast with bated breath as Cyclone Jasper makes its way towards Australia.

Jasper is expected to reach peak Category 4 intensity on Thursday and possibly Category 5 on Thursday evening, the Bureau of Meteorology said in its latest forecast.

The ‘unusual’ cyclone was moving south-southwestwards in the Coral Sea, with gusts expected to reach 200 kilometers per hour on Thursday evening.

Producers are reportedly concerned about how the treacherous weather forecast could affect filming and cause chaos and possible destruction in the I’m A Celebrity set in Springbrook’s National Park, just days away from the final.

“Production is aware of the threat and the safety of the celebrities is their priority. ITV is keeping a close eye on Cyclone Jasper,” a source said The sun.

‘The safety of celebrities is of the utmost importance to ITV and they are monitoring the situation. The timing couldn’t be more appropriate, as the cyclone is on track to strike when the stars rise to that challenge.

“This year the celebrities have had to endure some pretty terrible weather and just as the sun started to shine it all went south again. ITV is ready for any eventuality, but ultimately Cyclone Jasper could be an absolute nightmare and wreak havoc.

Jasper will likely weaken over the weekend, but will remain a tropical cyclone next week.

The agency will issue regular updates to keep Australia informed of developments in the situation in the coming days.

I’m A Celebrity’s favorite Celebrity Cyclone will take place on Saturday, with the four remaining celebrities completing an obstacle course in a bid to get stars for the camp, before the all-important final on Sunday.

The Australian cyclone season runs from November to April, but is usually most active in February and March.

“It is possible that Tropical Cyclone Jasper will move near the Queensland coast next week (but) there is significant uncertainty as to which parts of the Queensland coast will be affected,” senior meteorologist Dean Narramore said on Tuesday.

“The agency will provide regular updates to keep communities informed as the situation evolves over the coming days.”

ITV bosses previously told the Mail they were desperately hoping for a spell of good weather to boost morale after thunderstorms battered the jungle for a fortnight.
