Abdo is praised by fans as she responds to Carragher’s awkward ‘loyalty’ joke
FANS have praised Kate Abdo as she responded brilliantly to Jamie Carragher’s awkward ‘loyalty’ joke.
The CBS Sports duo were joined as usual by Thierry Henry and Micah Richards for their bantering Champions League coverage.

Last night, after Arsenal beat Porto on penalties, Carragher caused controversy for seemingly taking the joke too far and suggesting Abdo was not loyal to her husband Malik.
Back on screen tonight, the presenter addressed the situation with an inventive opening to the show.
Abdo said: “After our road trip to the Emirates we are back in our Champions League studio.
“This group, we’ve been together for three and a half years, I grew up with one brother and I feel like I’ve gained three more here.
‘Thierry Henry, of course, the golden child. He could do no wrong, always says the right thing and is an example to the rest of us.
“Intimidating? Yes, that’s possible, but he’s the big brother we all look up to.
“Then there’s the middle child, Jamie Carragher, with a chip on his shoulder, who can say anything to get attention.
“Does he sometimes go too far? Absolute. But does he apologize? Yes, he does.
“But we all have that one annoying family member that we still love and accept.”
Carragher grimaced and giggled awkwardly as Abdo took aim at him, leaving Henry and Richards in hysterics.
Of the ex-Manchester City star, Abdo said: “Then there’s the little brother, Micah. Loud and sweet.
“Easy to pick up, impossible not to love and everyone’s favorite.
“And like a good family, we stick together. Another day, another show. Nice to be with all of you.”
Fans have praised Abdo’s stunning opening speech, with one saying: “She washed that Jamie stinker away.”
Another said: “Kate is amazing. She handled this so well.”
A third wrote: “Exactly how you went about it, unreal.”
More commented: “Kate is simply the best and this crew is fantastic.”
As the CBS Sports team presented from the Emirates Stadium yesterday, Carragher wore an Arsenal shirt.
The Liverpool legend stated that he wanted Abdo and Henry to wear the kit after Richards had already donned it over his suit.
However, both were reluctant and Abdo replied that she was “loyal”.
When asked to whom, she said: “Manchester United thank you very much.”
Carragher’s next sentence stunned his fellow pundits when he replied: “Not to Malik.”
After a brief pause, Abdo replied, “What, why would you even say that?”
Visibly shocked by the comment, Henry looked at Abdo in bewilderment and said, “Sorry?”
Meanwhile, Richards looked at the ground in shame.
