Lauren Goodger has celebrated the one-year anniversary since she tragically lost her daughter Lorena in childbirth.

The former TOWIE star, 36, said she has been on ‘autopilot’ since the devastating passing of her second child.

Lorena was born on July 8 with two knots in her umbilical cord tied around her neck and despite ten doctors fighting to save her, she died shortly after birth.

“I can’t believe it’s been a year already. It feels like it happened a few months ago, it’s just now sinking in. It hadn’t sunk in for ages and I don’t think it hit me at all,” Lauren shared OK! magazine.

The reality star said she is still dealing with trauma after a hellish 12 months.

Lauren’s ex Charles Drury was charged with assaulting Lauren on the day of their daughter Lorena’s funeral.

She faced even more tragedies when she lost her ex-boyfriend Jake McLean died in a horrific car accident in Turkey last July.

Referring to this chain of events, Lauren explained, “There was a lot going on in that time that prevented me from really focusing on the main thing that was happening. So when I was going through certain things that I was going through at the time, my brain couldn’t separate things from what was going on.”

Lauren is mother to daughter Larose, 23 months, and spoke about how much it upsets her that her firstborn is missing a sister.

“It’s hard for me, but it’s really hard because of Larose. It would be so much fun if she had that little sister to play with.’

But Lauren said she’s open with Larose about Lorena and wants to make sure the toddler remembers her sister.

She keeps the baby’s ashes on a shelf next to her hair, handprint, footprint, and photos of Larose and Lorena together.

The television personality explained that sometimes Larose just stands there and says “Baby, baby” and has to heartbreakingly tell her “Lorena isn’t here.”

Lauren also revealed that the hardest parts of the anniversary are thinking about the milestones Lorena would have reached by now.

Last August, Lauren got a tattoo of her daughter’s name with a butterfly on her arm.

The play contains part of Lorena’s ashes, meaning her daughter is always with her.

Keen to help other people who have gone through the pain of losing a baby, the TOWIE star wants to help other women “who can’t get through it” and keep Lorena’s memory alive.

Lauren recently confessed that she hasn’t given up on her dream of expanding her family and that she feels like she’s “missing a man” in her life.

Speaking to New Magazine, Lauren said, “I would like to be in a happy, loving relationship – I deserve that. I want another baby, I want to be in love, I want to be happy again.

‘I miss that. I really miss having a man in my life – I’ve always had a boyfriend – and because my family relationship is really up and down.”

Lauren also discussed the “harsh” reality of co-parenting with 26-year-old contractor Charles, confessing, “It’s exhausting. The driving, meetings, organization is hard work, but I would never stop him from seeing her and being at birthdays and such special things. That’s why I do all the driving and organizing.

‘We make sure that it works as well as possible for Larose. I want him to see her as much as possible because she needs both parents.”

Charles was charged last month with assaulting Lauren on the day of their daughter’s funeral and will face trial.

The builder has been charged with assault and engaging in ‘coercive’ and ‘controlling’ behaviour, according to the Metropolitan Police.

He will appear in court on July 12.
