A pie factory worker suffered horrific injuries after being trapped in a conveyor belt for an hour.
The 31-year-old worker at the Outback Pie Company in Townsville suffered multiple fractures to his left arm after becoming trapped around a tensioner pulley. Townsville Bulletin reported.
The employee was cleaning the machines at the bottom of the conveyor belt in October 2020 when his sleeve got stuck and dragged him inside.

He required surgery and spent five days in hospital with injuries that kept him out of work for four months.
Magistrate Richard Lehmann found the company – which makes 45,000 pies, sausage rolls and muffins a day – had a lack of safety measures.
The company has now changed its safety rules, requiring the conveyor belt to be switched off before being cleaned.
The company pleaded guilty to failing in its primary duty to ensure the health and safety of employees.
Outback Pie Company was fined $55,000, but no conviction was recorded.
