Jaime Del Burgo, 53, who currently lives in Britain, recently contributed to a tell-all book about the Spanish royal family, where he claims they were still romantically involved after Letizia’s 2004 marriage to King Felipe.

The entrepreneur – who claims he was dating Letizia when she met King Felipe – last night shared an undated selfie that the Queen, 51, took in a bathroom mirror during one of her pregnancies as proof of their relationship on X, formerly known as Twitter .

In the selfie, the royal had her brown hair styled in a single braid and is wearing a black pashmina – which Jaime claims was his.

Next to the image, Jaime typed a message that he believed was sent by the Queen of Spain.

Last night, businessman Jaime Del Burgo shared this invisible selfie of Queen Letizia with his X followers. He claimed the royal wore his pashmina and said he ‘took care of her’

It read: ‘Love. I’m wearing your pashmina. It’s like I feel you by my side. It takes care of me.

‘It protects me. I’m counting the hours until we meet again. Love you. Go away. Yours,’

After sharing the image, other The businessman has now deleted his X account.

A spokesperson for the Spanish royal family told FEMAIL: “We have no comment on this.”

It comes just weeks after Jaime – who was married to Letizia’s sister Telma from 2012-2014 – made a series of allegations about his relationship with the Queen in journalist Jaime Peñafiel’s new book ‘Letizia & I’.

Speak with El Cierre Digital, The author, 91, said Letizia was Jaime del Burgo’s “great love” and that the couple’s relationship turned into a “great friendship” after she started dating King Felipe.

Local media report that Jamie – the son of former politician Jaime Ignacio del Burgo – planned to propose to Letizia when she announced her relationship with the future king in the gardens of the Ritz hotel in Madrid.

After their engagement was announced in 2003, Letizia – who divorced her first husband in 1999 – asked Jaime to be best man at their wedding.

He told the author, “I told him my problems and he told me [me] are.’

However, Jaime claims that even after the wedding in 2004, he was still romantically involved with Letizia and has kept “photos, videos, cell phones” and text messages as evidence.

In the book, Jaime claims that in 2010, Letizia whispered that she loved him as they lay in a hammock by a pool at her home.

The author – who joked that Letizia’s alleged ex-lover should have been his co-author – wrote: ‘Letizia lay in the same hammock, under the veranda by the pool, facing each other, and said to me: ‘I love you’ and I replied, ‘I love you.’

After this, Jaime claims they “took steps forward with the goal of being free” – which involved seeking legal advice and viewing properties in the US.

One of the most damaging claims Jaime is reportedly making is that Queen Letizia reportedly suggested they have a child together with the help of a surrogate mother in Los Angeles.

But in August 2011, Jaime said Letizia abruptly ended their relationship when she called him and said, “We can’t keep seeing each other.”

The following year he married Letizia’s younger sister Telma Oritz, who used to work in the Barcelona city council.

Author Jamie Peñafiel wrote: “When [Jamie del Burgo] is getting married to Telma, it is Felipe who advises him on the marriage agreements and over the years they have maintained a great friendship.’

In 2012, the couple moved to New York to start their married life, but Telma returned to Barcelona the same year before announcing their final divorce in 2014.

The couple’s first divorce attempts were crushed by the groom’s father, Jaime Ignacio del Burgo, who told the court that his son and Telma were remorseful and wanted to give their marriage another try.

Telma has since married Irish lawyer Robert Gavin Bonnar. Jaime remarried the Swedish lawyer Lucía Díaz Liljestrom.

Born on September 15, 1972 in Oviedo, northern Spain, Letizia grew up in a middle-class family and attended public school.

While her mother, Maria Rodriguez, was a nurse, Letizia took after her father, Jesús José Ortiz Álvarez, and stepmother Ana Togores, who are both journalists, and studied communications at the University of Madrid.

She then obtained her master’s degree in journalism and after a stint at the Asturian daily La Nueva España, she went to work for ABC, a popular national newspaper with the third largest circulation in Spain.

This was followed by a period at the Spanish news agency EFE before she took a role in the local newspaper Siglo 21 after a move to Guadalajara, Mexico.

The couple married in 1998 after a ten-year romance, with the pair meeting when the future Spanish queen was just 16.

They married in a civil ceremony in the town of Almendralejo, Badajoz, but divorced the following year.

By the time she met her husband-to-be Felipe in 2002, Letizia was working for the popular TV channel 24 Horas, where in addition to anchoring the popular Telediario 2 evening news bulletin, she covered a wide range of major news events.

As a news anchor, she reported live from Ground Zero after the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The following year she met Prince Felipe – at the site of an oil spill in northern Spain. The year after first meeting Felipe, Letizia resigned and a few days later their engagement was announced.
