A social media user has sparked another fierce debate over airline etiquette after suggesting that travelers should “blow” the air conditioner on passengers who recline their seats too far.
The TikToker, which goes by @DeLKShow on the app, sparked a major debate after he posted a video complaining about people reclining their seats on a flight.
He said it often “leaves no room for him” but that he came up with a solution – he turns on the vent above his seat and adjusts it so it hits their heads – but his idea sparked a huge debate among viewers .
“Unethical life hack: If you’re on a plane and the person in front of you puts their seat all the way back leaving you no room, turn the air conditioner above you on full blast and point it at the top of their head,” he wrote with the video, which has since been viewed more than 1.9 million times.

Some people were all for the idea of TikToker and were quick to praise it, while others were not a fan of it.
“Relax chairs are for reclining,” one person commented.

A fourth comment read, “Yeah, I’m not sitting upright for my 10-hour flight, because the seat can’t recline for nothing.”

Another user wrote, “You don’t gain extra space by leaning back, you take the room away from the person behind you.”

Others instead criticized the airlines and the aircraft’s design, with one person writing, “Why don’t you shift that energy to the airline that designed these planes?”

Last month, a traveler went viral on Reddit after revealing that he had been criticized by another passenger for leaning back in his seat.
The user who passes @SkyHawk3485opened up about his experience on the Am I the A**hole? subreddit, explaining that it’s hard for him to get comfortable because he’s a “big guy,” weighing 350 pounds and a height of 1.80 meter flights.
“After the thing at 10,000 feet, I look back to make sure the person behind me isn’t carrying a laptop or something, then slowly slide my seat back,” he wrote.
The man, who said he was a frequent flier, added that he “paid first class” and that “the people in the front usually don’t mind” him reclining his seat.
“This flight was about four and a half hours across the US, and within 20 seconds of me leaning back, the dude taps me on the shoulder and says, ‘Raise your goddamn seat,'” he continued.
Genuinely surprised, I moved it upstairs to appease the man, but called the flight attendant and told her I intended to put it back after meal service and asked her to notify the man. She assured me that’s my prerogative so I didn’t worry about it.
