Travis Kelce thanks mother Donna Kelce for his trust

“My mom's home videos, man,” Travis, 34, shared during a Kansas City Chiefs press conference on Friday, February 2. 'Just having that camera with me at all times, seeing what crazy things I'm going to do next, man. To be honest, I've always felt comfortable in the rooms I've been in and I've been lucky enough to be able to look into a camera with ease, I think. Don't know. It's just fun there.”
Travis, who has played for the Chiefs since the 2013 NFL draft, confessed that becoming an athlete also helped him come out of his shell after growing up as a timid child.
“I think for me, confidence in general and in the sport is the foundation on which I built my self-confidence,” he continued. “You probably won't believe it, but I was a shy kid growing up until I ended up on the sports field, track or ice rink.”

It was the “fun,” he added, that finally allowed him to show his personality. “I had success, and that just pushed me to have confidence in life,” he said.
Travis has been a household name in the NFL for over a decade, but the 2023-2024 season launched him into the A-list of celebrities after he started dating his girlfriend. Taylor Swift in the summer of 2023. Swift, 34, made her first appearance in a Chiefs game alongside Donna, 71, in September. Since then, she has continued to cheer him on, getting the world invested in the couple's love story.

In addition to his personal life making headlines, Travis has also made a name for himself in the entertainment industry outside of football. He has appeared in several television commercials, from State Farm to Campbell's Chunky Soup, and serves as a spokesperson for biopharmaceutical company Pfizer. In March 2023, he also achieved a lifelong dream: being a host Saturday evening live.
When asked last month if he wanted to expand his career outside of football, Travis admitted that although he is thinking about it, he will retire soon.

Barry Brecheisen/Getty Images“I've been fortunate enough to be able to do some of the things outside of sports that I enjoy, like being in front of the camera,” he explained during a Jan. 11 press conference. “The SNL things have opened up a new happiness and a new career path for me, but it's funny to even say that at this point in my career because I think it's so much further down the road than it is now.
“I have no reason to stop playing football,” he added. “I love it. We're still having success.”

Travis' next big moment in the spotlight will be for his athletic achievements as the Chiefs take on the San Fransisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. The Sunday, Feb. 11 game, which will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, serves as a rematch between the two teams, who previously battled for the Lombardi Trophy in 2020, with the Chiefs taking home the win.
