Aldi shopper reveals clever hack to beat speedy cashiers, but not everyone is impressed
Many people love German budget supermarket Aldi, but if there’s one thing that puts them off, it’s the speedy cashiers who pressure you to pack your weekly shopping in what feels like milliseconds.
British TikToker Cooking with Tubz uploaded a 32-second clamp with a hack to avoid feeling like you’re trying to beat a world record while packing groceries.
He showed his 32,000 followers how, instead of packing bags as the products come off the conveyor belt, he puts them into carts as quickly as possible before heading to a nearby store. ‘packing board’.
The dark gray shelf by the window allows him to pack quietly without feeling rushed, and some commenters admitted they’d always wondered what those shelves were for.
However, fans were not very pleased, calling on their cashiers to slow down, with some threatening to switch to Tesco, or pack even more slowly if staff rushed them.

The enthusiastic customer explained: ‘Place your items on the conveyor belt, directly into the trolley, just like this.
‘And to the packing rack, pack your things in your bags, so that you can get out of the way of the other customers and then out the door more quickly.’
But it was his generosity that turned off Aldi fans. Many were outraged that the budget supermarket couldn’t wait for them to pack their bags, although one theorized that this was how they got away with hiring fewer people.
One user angrily said, “No, they can wait for me to pack my things,” while another user asked, “Why should I have to do that?”
Cooking with Tubz said the trick makes you feel much more relaxed, but some commenters questioned why they should be forced to use the wrapping board and called for cashiers to slow down.

And some people didn’t buy the Cooking with Tubz hack. One user chose to ‘open bags in a trolley and put stuff in them’.
