Gillian Anderson reveals she returned to set for The do laundry! ‘

Gillian Anderson has spoken candidly about the challenges she faced as a working mother of three in a recent interview.

The Sex Education actress, 55, opened up about her overwhelming experience of motherhood and admitted she ‘didn’t know what the hell she was doing’ after the birth of her first child.

After welcoming her daughter Piper into the world via caesarean section in 1994, Gillian went straight back to work filming The X-Files ten days later.

Speaking about the arduous time with Grazia, Gillian said: ‘I didn’t know what the hell I was doing! You’re upside down and sometimes you feel like you’re going a little crazy. And I got help.”

Gillian has an adult daughter, Piper, 29, with production designer Clyde Klotz, as well as two teenage sons – Oscar, 15, and Felix, 17 – with ex Mark Griffiths.

She added: “10 days after a c-section. I wouldn’t have chosen that, but I had no choice.

“I had help and I still struggled. Women who raise children on their own are superwomen, they are amazing.’

Gillian then made a bold fashion choice for the 2024 Golden Globes, wearing a dress subtly embroidered with vaginas.

The star looked stunning in a strapless white custom dress designed by Gabriela Hearst for the ceremony in Beverly Hills.

At first glance, it looked like the star had opted for a classic dress, but fans who zoomed in quickly noticed that the dress was covered in feminine anatomical motifs.

Speak with Deadline on the red carpet, Gillian confirmed the design and shrugged when asked why she chose the dress: ‘Oh, for so many reasons. It fits the brand.’

In another red carpet interview with Additional Gillian explained that the dress was a collaboration between Hearst and her “alternative wellness brand,” G Spot.

‘Yonis [the Sanskrit word for womb]There are so many yonis on my dress,” she said. ‘The embroidery took 3 1/2 hours per yoni, and that is a lot. So it was about 150 hours of embroidery.”

“Since my presence on Instagram has been highlighting yonis since sex education hit Netflix and with my brand G-Spot’s mantra of ‘putting pleasure first’, I wanted to bring this element into the design,” she added. British Vogue.

Gillian made it even more fun by sharing a photo of herself eating after the show, joking in the Instagram caption: “Sometimes you just need a sausage to match your yoni dress.”

Hearst, meanwhile, declared the look “vulvalically chic” on her Instagram post as it provided insight into the epic construction process.

‘Gillian wears an ivory wool silk cady corset dress with custom embroidery. Made entirely in New York City, the embroidery was crafted in the garment district and the dress was assembled in the in-house studio. Embroidering each motif took approximately 3.5 hours.’

The dress was met with an outpouring of love from fans online with one tweeting: ‘Gillian Anderson wearing a dress embroidered with vaginas, oh she is and always will be the moment.’
