Margot Robbie stuns in a strapless black dress with a sheer cape as Michelle Williams, Penelope Cruz and Natalie Portman turn heads on the red carpet at the star-studded Gotham Independent Film Awards in NYC

Margot Robbie dazzled in a black, tea-length dress while attending the Gotham Independent Film Awards, alongside among Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Michelle Williams, Penelope Cruz and Natalie Portman.

As she arrived Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, all eyes were on the 33-year-old Barbie star as she strutted down the red carpet in a form-fitting frock under a semi-sheer cape with a bow across her neck. 

The two-time Oscar nominee, who attended the star-studded event with her husband Tom Ackerley, accessorized her chic ensemble with a metallic clutch, open-toed heels, pearl earrings and a pair of leather gloves. 

She opted to style her gorgeous golden blonde mane into a perfectly coiffed ponytail and opted for a stunning makeup look that enhanced her natural beauty and features. 

For the occasion, the Australian actress sported a nude lipstick, several layers of mascara, a subtle winged eyeliner and bronzer for a sun-kissed glow. 

Her spouse, who she quietly wed in 2016, looked handsome by her side in a black suit, matching button-down and shiny loafers. 

Robbie looked radiant as she posed for photos with her man, before heading inside together as she prepared for her latest film, Barbie, to receive a tribute award. 

Other standout looks included Williams, 43, who took the plunge in a striking black gown, which featured a low-cut neckline and was adorned with an intricate floral design across her chest. 

The Golden Globe winner, who welcomed her third child last November, completed her outfit with a pearl and gold necklace and a large ring for an extra touch of glamor. 

Williams’ blush gave her a healthy and natural-looking flush of color while her smokey eyeshadow made the green flecks in her hazel eyes pop.

Her husband, Thomas Kail, best known for directing the Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musicals In the Heights and Hamilton, held her hand on the red carpet. 

The theatre director, who won a Tony Award for Best Direction in 2016, cut a dapper figure in a black suit, white dress shirt and coordinating striped tie. 

Williams is up for Outstanding Lead Performance for her role in the 2022 comedy-drama film, Showing Up, co-written and directed by Kelly Reichardt. 

Cruz, who is competing in the same category as Williams after earning rave reviews for her starring role in the biopic Ferrari, was dressed to impress in a long, semi-sheer white gown, which clung onto every inch of her famously voluptuous figure.

The Spanish actress, 49, styled her floor-length dress with a black clutch, matching pumps and a glamorous pair of statement earrings that peeked out behind her voluminous curls. 

Portman looked lovely in a floral tea-length dress, which she styled with silver high heels. 

Her 2023 film, May December, which she starred in and produced, earned Samy Burch a nod for Best Screenplay and actor, Charles Melton, a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Performance.

Bradley Cooper looked dapper in a black suit with a light blue button-down, which accentuated his piercing blue eyes. 

The actor, who is rumored to be dating supermodel Gigi Hadid, posed for photos with his Maestro costar Carey Mulligan.

At one point, the father-of-one was seen making Mulligan laugh as he cracked a joke to her on the red carpet. 

The English actress, 38, rocked a one-shoulder black gown with a train to the ceremony. 

Rachel McAdams, who is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Performance, showcased her incredibly toned figure in a ribbed black gown with a plunging keyhole cut-out between her breasts. 

Meanwhile, Shailene Woodley exuded class in a black long gown with fringe on her sleeves and director Greta Gerwig stood out from the crow in an eye-catching white gown and cream blazer, which she kept perched on her shoulders. 

Julianne Moore was the epitome of elegance in a black long sleeve gown as she cheered on her costar Charles Melton, who won Outstanding Supporting Performance. 

Laura Dern paid her respects to the highest-grossing movie of the year while rocking a black Barbie t-shirt under a satin blazer. 

The Gotham Awards are typically the the earliest awards show of the season, and begin at 7 p.m. ET.

This marks the first year the show removed the decade-old budget cap, which only honored films that made for $35 million or less.
